Fredagsbiten: Den 21 augusti 2015 hittades världens hittills äldsta flaskpost, dokumenterat av Guiness Book of World Records, mer än 108 år efter att det kastats i havet. Flaskposten var en av 1020 flaskor som släpptes i Nordsjön någon gång mellan 1904 och 1906 som en del av ett marint forskningsprojekt med syfte att undersöka havsströmmar.  Just denna flaska upptäcktes av en tysk kvinna Marianne Winkler när hon promenerade på strand på den nordtyska ön Amrum i Nordsjön.  ”’It’s always a joy when someone finds a message-in-a-bottle on the beach – Where does it come from, who wrote it, and how long has it been travelling on the winds, waves and currents?” sa hon till lokaltidningen Amrum news. Inuti flaskan fanns ett vykort med en angivelse om positionen där flaskan släppts och en uppmaning skriven på engelska, tyska och holländska att upphittaren skulle skicka meddelandet till Marine Biologic Association i Storbritannien. Upphittaren utlovades en shilling som tack, vilket Winkler också fick.

Veckans låt är given. En klassiker från Police andra album Reaggatta de Blanc som släpptes 1979. Sting skrev låten och det lär vara en av de låtar han själv är mest stolt över: ”I like the idea that while it’s about loneliness and alienation it’s also about finding solace and other people going through the same thing. The guy’s on a desert island and throws a bottle out to sea saying he’s alone and all these millions of bottles come back saying, So what So am I! I like the fact that the whole deal is clinched by the third verse. It makes a journey.”
